One of the "advantages" of it being quieter than normal, I'm getting to read more comic books.

Well, back in January, a new imprint was announced, the AWA: Artists, Writers and Artisans. They announced a stack of new books, and headlined by superstar writer/creator of Babylon 5: J. Michael Stazynski. His 6-year run on Amazing Spider-Man may be the best written Spider-Man books of the modern era.

His new 6-part mini-series, The Resistance, is incredibly apropos in this time of crisis: a genetic virus ravages the entire world in the span of weeks, with a mortality rate of 95% once infected. And all measures that the world governments take to prevent it are for naught. This enables new political groups to rise to power to "protect their citizens."

I won't spoil what happens in the book, but Strazynski has got me hooked for more. I can't wait to see what will happen in issue #2.

The other books to release from AWA this week are:
